About the Cylinder Head
Located just above the cylinders on top of the engine block, the cylinder head completes the body provided by the block. For each cylinder, there is a corresponding indention in the cylinder head. Within each indention (which comes in multiple different designs, but typically either a hemispherical design, or a penta-roof design) there are multiple valves. When the valves are closed, a combustion chamber is formed between the piston head, the cylinder walls, and the cylinder head.
